The power of cooperation

Cooperation is a skill learned in childhood and when used will serve us well for a lifetime. Navigating communication, finding consensus and executing a plan within a group of distinctly different personalities is not an easy task. Early experiences practicing these skills help us grow. We learn negotiation, giving and taking, to reach agreement in the group. Clearly communicating what is needed to be successful individually and as a team is a skill we work on refining well into adulthood so I remind my children to have patience with each other.
